Patient Participation Group
The Patient Participation Group [PPG] has been formed to help us find out about our patients views regarding the services at Queens Avenue Surgery and identify areas where improvement is needed. We have gathered this information by performing a patient survey recently and received 277 responses in total. Having discussed the practice survey results the group have made their recommendations and agreed an action plan with the practice. The Practice will look into these recommendations and make changes where possible.
The group will continue to meet throughout the year to discuss any changes and outcomes, help us improve our services and share an understanding of issues. The group will be fully briefed about NHS practice policies and delivery of services.
The PPG is a mixed group. It comprises of nine volunteer members between the ages of forty one and seventy six, five females and four males.
The practice has experienced some difficulty recruiting younger members.
Although we have advertised both on the practice website and put up posters in the surgery, there has been no response from patients under thirty five years of age. We will work hard to capture patients from this age group.
Aim of the Patient Participation Group.
Collect patient opinions, in order to help us evaluate our services and identify the needs of our patients.
Improve the quality of patient care.
Discuss new patient services.
Encourage good relations between patients and staff.
Help shape the future of the surgery.
The practice welcomes new members to the group and is keen to hear the views of our patients.
